DISCLAIMER was given, and answered with a hearty “AYE!” And a few PAX mentioned something about putting seat backs in their upright position and other nonsense.
YHC woke this morning to the sounds of pounding rain, and considered adjusting this workout (mostly due to the pull-up bars, but also heart chargers in the rain can be dangerous). But then he thought of the reason why we were there, and that men don’t wake up at the crack of dawn to do “easy things,” and just went with it.
Surprisingly, one PAX mentioned yesterday “I hope there isn’t a lot of running” (since he was recovering from COVID) and another PAX mentioned just before we started “I hope there isn’t going to be pull-ups” (since they just did a Murph 3 days ago). Alas, YHC had to disappoint both of them.
Slide Rule was early as usual, and he saw YHC run off with a set of orange cones and a measuring tape, as did a few of the other PAX who arrived early. YHC thought we were going to only have 5, until Litterbug and Magellan pulled in, just about the time for the warmup!

The Thang : Treehugger WOD (Workout of the Day)
Today we paid our respects and honored a fellow PAX who left this earth way too early. This WOD was created by F3 Lehigh Valley as a way of remembering Treehugger.
David Crossett, known to his brothers in the Gloom at F3 Fleetwood as Treehugger, was 39 when he passed away on June 29th this year. He was an accomplished attorney, and co-owner of his own law firm. He leaves behind his wife of 16 years, and his four children.
YHC met Treehugger on at least three occasions, remembering the weight vest that he always seemed to have on. While YHC was gasping for breath, there was Treehugger, chugging away (with extra weight) almost effortlessly. Judging by the impact he left on those around him, he will be sorely missed.
“The Crossett Fit Games” in memory of Dave Crossett aka Treehugger
We got in 3 rounds :
10 pull-ups (then mosey to the bandshell)
20 V-ups
30 Merkins
40 yard broad jump burpees (along the path between 3rd and 2nd avenues, where YHC setup the cones!)
50 yard heart chargers
1/3 mile run (normally a 1/2 mile run, but we modified it to 1/3 of a mile to get more rounds in).
After each lap, we ended back at the pull-up bars, where we waited for the six with the old Al Gore (aka : Treehuggers).
Ended up back at the flag for a few rounds of Mary :
15 LBCs IC
10 Freddy Mercury’s IC
10 E2K IC on each side
We ended in a plank ring of thanksgiving, where each PAX mentioned something they were thankful for.
COT :
Prayers for job opportunities. Spend every day like it will be your last. We aren’t guaranteed tomorrow.
How do you want to be remembered? What kind of impact will you leave?
