Beatdown : 11 PAX posted
YHC woke early today to the sounds of thunder and lightning. The beatdown that was planned included multiple rounds of pull-ups, but after hearing the distant storms, YHC made some quick adjustments on the fly, as we all do!
A few PAX were already there warming up when YHC rolled in with the flag. More and more guys came pouring in (pun intended, with the weather) until we had a nice group of 11.
DISCLAIMER was heartily given, and the PAX responded verbally with an “aye!”

Mosey back to the Mr. Reeves Statue (0.2 miles).
We did 3 rounds of this, back and forth around the park, until we stopped on stage for a bit of 6MOM including a circle burp, gas pumpers (IC x10), superman holds (IC x10), and then flutter kicks – with legs sticking out over the edge of the stage (IC x10).
We moseyed the other way around the Park, stopping at the lower corner on Starr Street where the PAX all put their six towards the road, and performed some monkey humpers (IC x10). YHC was hoping for cars honking or waving, or even jeering at us, but sadly, there were none.
YHC called out “bear crawls up the sidewalk” to burn off all that angst from not getting any cars honking. After a 95m bear crawl, we stopped at the top of the park and did another round of monkey humpers (IC x10), when StartUp yelled “I heard a horn!”
YHC felt a little better about the activity then, and we moseyed back to the flag.
While around the flag, we did some smurf jacks (10x IC) to finish it off (which YHC recalls doing quite early in his F3 career with Side Effects!).
COT :
Keep EH’ing. One guy asking another guy to come join us can make a huge difference. One guy at a time. Flipper got up on stage one Sunday morning 4 years ago and asked if anyone wanted to join him. YHC thought “why not, I’ve got nothing to lose – it’s free!” and that started my F3 career.
YHC shared that the first time he posted, he was unable to run even 0.25 miles without stopping and gasping for breath. Sore for days after each workout. The workouts didn’t get any easier, but the saying holds true – you just get stronger.
YHC met a ton of fine upstanding men along the way (and some not-so-upstanding, but fine anyway!) who came alongside and cheered me on when YHC was in the back, or just couldn’t keep up. Leave no man behind, but also don’t leave him where you found him. This was true for YHC, and I hope it’s true for you too.
F3 – changing lives – one man at a time!
Just as we finished with on-site coffeeteria, the skies opened up and it started to pour as we drove off. It was a pleasure to share the Gloom with the men this morning, as always!
