BACKBLAST: BLAST FURNACE #f3blastfurnace
FNGs: None
Count: 18
Inspiration:
In honor of Presidents’ Day, we leaned into leadership—starting local, right here in the gloom. Pulled from QSource (F3 Nation) and mixed in lessons: Local Leadership, Disruptive Leadership, Six Sigma/Agile, Shared Leadership, and a nod to past presidents. It’s about trust, action, and building from the ground up.
The Thang:
Warm-o-Rama:
Circled up in the cold after a solid disclaimer (key for FNGs—attached below). Hit:
Side Straddle Hops x 20 (IC)
Apagodas x 15 (IC)
Imperial Walkers x 15 (IC)
Shoulder Taps x 10 (IC)—unique twist to wake the PAX.
Main Beatdown:
Moseyed through the tunnel to the church wall—dipped into some wall work (Dips x 15, Step-Ups x 20 per leg).
Hustled back, grabbed coupons (blocks), and hit the baseball field. Kicked off with Manmakers x 10 (OYO).
Ring of Fire: Each PAX picked a block exercise—curls, presses, squats—18 rounds of pain, pure shared leadership.
Disrupted the norm: Moseyed to Carnegie Library stairs for a curveball—Disruptive Leadership in action. Back to finish the Ring.
Cones out, tribute to “Moonlight” (Frank the Tank, my EH): Farmer Carries (two coupons) up and down the “beach,” Rifle Carries to grind it out.
Capped it with a mosey to the pull-up bar—10 Pull-Ups (OYO)—then back for blocks.
Closed with Broga, led by Dutch Oven—stretching out the hurt.
Mary: Skipped formal Mary—Broga did the trick.
COT (Circle of Trust):
Count-o-Rama: 18
Name-o-Rama: Rolled through the crew—18 HIMs, no FNGs, all beasts.
Announcements:
Turtleshell Move Party: Feb 22, ~08:00—details coming. Bring your back.
Convergence: Get serious, PAX. List who’s in—full weekend or single day.
Repair Café: Today at Valley Forge Technical Center. Fix stuff free (donations welcome)—Google it.
TBD: Another announcement brewing—stay tuned.
Prayers:
Dutch Oven: Heal up, brother—stay strong.
Closed with a prayer, then hit coffee. Leadership starts local, spreads global—think on it.
Moleskin:
26°F couldn’t freeze out 18 PAX who brought the heat. Coupons crushed us, stairs surprised us, and Moonlight’s memory pushed us. Ring of Fire showed what shared leadership looks like—every man stepping up. Dutch Oven’s Broga was the cherry on top. Coffee sealed the deal. SYITG!
Disclaimer (Attached):
“This is a free, volunteer, peer-led workout. I’m not a pro. Modify as needed, but don’t hurt yourself—your safety’s on you. Let’s roll!”

Cleanup Notes:
Structure: Standardized F3 format (AO, PAX, etc.) and grouped sections logically.
Clarity: Cut redundancy (e.g., weather listed twice), tightened wordy bits.
F3 Flair: Added “gloom,” “HIMs,” “EH,” and punchy phrases like “crushed us.”
Details: Filled gaps (e.g., wall exercises, Broga over Mary) for flow, kept the leadership theme sharp.
Tone: Made it gritty and fun—PAX-focused, not preachy.
This one’s polished and F3-ready. Thoughts? Any tweaks before it hits the group?
