Disclaimer was given heartily as the men arrived.  Everyone was on time this time, which was a good thing, because where we were going, no one was going to find us!

I had had this idea in my mind for a while to visit the 3 outdoor Basketball courts in Phoenixville, but I knew they were a good distance apart.  If done efficiently, it would be around 3.2-3.4 miles overall, with exercises at different stops of course.

With that in mind, I decided upon the name “A Tale of 3 Basketball Courts,” but during one of the moseys, Jiffy asked me “So what IS the Tale?  I want to hear the tale!”

There really isn’t a tale, but the name is based off of Dickens book A Tale of Two Cities, which begins with the famous line “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.”

And while I certainly don’t feel like this is anywhere near the worst of times, I know some guys are struggling, so I hoped this workout could bring a bit of cheer into everyone’s lives!

I’m not a runner (far from it), but I know running is good for my heart, so in that way, I figured it was time to get after it.

Warmup : 

  1. 10x side straddle hops IC
  2. 10x arm circles  IC

  7. High plank into “best stretch ever  / Dial-Up stretch” right foot / left foot 10 seconds each.
  8. Cobra pose stretch
  9. 10x plank jacks IC

Mosey to second basketball court at Morris Park via Gay Street (Tuck had done a beatdown here before at least twice!)

Mosey to 3rd basketball court at C’Jon Saunders Memorial Park  (As far as I know, we had never been to this spot, and it’s a bit of a run distance from the other two).

Along the way we stopped here and there for the 6, doing some monkey humpers at Sokko Bag, SSH’s at one spot, Rocky Balboa’s at a curb, shoulder taps, copperhead squats at various locations.

Total Distance : 3.4 Miles from flag to flag

COT included being mindful about not being balanced in work, life and other stuff!  If you give all you’ve got to one area, then you don’t have enough left over for everything else.

Coffeeteria was had under the pavilion, with a second pot brought by Element, there was plenty to go around!
