Conditions : 76F and 92% humidity : HOT, humid and moist
A solid disclaimer was given as the PAX arrived. Hops called it early, as I was heading down the Canal Path, similar to my Q from last year. I just think it’s a cool scenic route that we don’t take often except on a pre-ruck!
We circled up and were doing Side Straddle Hops when our FNG showed up! I went through a brief disclaimer again and we continued!

We picked up the 50# sandbag and started moseying! The guy in the front carried, then the guy at the end of the line ran up and took the sandbag, similar to a Guardian/Indian Run.
Mosey down the VFW, Bluebird Distillery, then across Bridge and over to Lock 60 along the Schuylkill Canal.
Approximate overall mileage : 2.3 miles
The Thang :
Along the way, we stopped at various points to spell out the below words. The VFW, on the canal path, and even the “grassy knoll” on Bridge Street.
When we got to the bridge heading to the Canal, we stopped for a BUCKET BRIGADE! Everyone performed a People’s Chair / Wall Sit. The man on the end had the 50# sandbag, and passed it to his left, to the next guy on the wall, and then ran to the other end of the line.
We did this both ways under the bridge!

COT : We made it back to the flag for some COT. Prayers for Slice and his family, and also our country! Remember “a burden shared is half the burden. A joy shared is twice the joy.”
Always a great time at the Blast Furnace, with plenty of opportunity to reflect on good we have it here in the US, and appreciate the men I’m surrounded by on a daily basis!
