12/13/2024 - Honey Pot - National Hot Chocolate Day

’Twas the gloom before breakfast and all through the lot

The weather was frigid, the chocolate was hot.

The PAX soon all sweaty, their breath was quite visible,

All had assumed we would be rather miserable.

Who woulda thunk it was National Hot Cocoa Day?

Fitting weather, but the holiday’s made up, I say.

We mosied from carport with coupons to grass

For a Dutch Oven beatdown sure to kick ass.

Below the pavilion we staged picnic tables

So going over and under we’d soon be able.

The workout: an AMRAP, each man against self

(Some were just glad for no Elf on the Shelf).

’Twas “you against you” not “you against me” —

Not much comfort when you scrape your cold knees.

Exercise at pavilion, five burpees afar,

These tables now obstacles betwixt here and thar.

One table squeaked so, wished we had an oiler.

(Please don’t tell, but I stole this beatdown from Spoiler.)

LBCs, Climbers, and Zombie Crunches

The treat PAX awaited: they all had their hunches.

Merkins, Bizzarros, and Lion Kings were dread,

While visions of marshmallows danced in their heads.

We ran out the clock (and we ran it hard)

Laughing at what we just did in the yard.

No FNGs, but our number quite decent

We shared our concerns, most of them recent.

PAX numbered eleven, not seven or nine,

Nutella made that hot chocolate more fine.

The Cocoa: delicious.  The banter: such fun!

Our Ms will be proud of our rock solid buns.

With tables returned and coupons put back

We eagerly anticipated the chatter on Slack!
