01/13/2022 - Blast Furnace - A Peach of a Day

6 HIM posted at the BlastFurnace during a calm 25 degree morning to share in the sweet celebration of National Peach Melba Day! Following a collective holiday indulgence the last few weeks, the team was determined and excited to find the abdominal framework we so easily lost a few weeks ago, ironically on a day such as this. With the strong support from a curated and themed playlist, the PAX never looked back and pushed through the challenges of the beatdown.

Warmup: Mosey around Reeves Park followed by:

  1. SSHs 25X IC
  2. Imperial Walkers 15X IC
  3. Michael Phelps 10X IC
  4. Arm Circles 10X IC
  5. Chinooks 10X IC
  6. Weed Pickers 10X IC
  7. Mountain Climbers 15X IC
  8. Merkins 10X IC
  9. Stretches: Cobra, Down Dog, Plank to Hamstring Stretch each leg.

P – Plank Jacks 20X IC

A – Alternating Side Lunges 20X IC

C – Carolina Dry Docks 15X IC

     Mosey around the statue & back to stage

H – Hop Squats (aka: pulsing squats) 15X IC 

M – Mountain Climber Merkins 10X IC

     Mosey around the statue & back to stage

E – Elevens (Dips & Squats) OYO, then Plank until all done

L – Low Country Crabs 15X IC

B – Burpees 10X OYO

A – American Hammers 15X IC

     Mosey around the statue & back to benches for a final leg polish of Steps Ups 20X OYO (each leg).

GRAND FINALE – Ain’t No Sunshine  – While listening to Bill Withers “Ain’t No Sunshine”, the PAX collectively struggled to find the light while holding a 6-inch leg lift during the whole song and incorporating leg lifts & flutter kicks.

COT : included prayers for those battling Covid and an announcement of cheer for a son’s upcoming first swim meet.
